Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26th, 1991) better known by her stage title Ari Lennox is an American music producer and performer of Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist to be contracted to J. Cole's label Dreamville Records. On the 21st of October, 2016, she released Pho Her debut EP under the label Dreamville Records. That was the day she began to gain recognition. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. It was released in May of 2019. Ari Lennox started uploading her music on the internet in 2012 as she launched her debut mixtape called Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography In 2013. She continued to share her music over the web including her self launched single Bound. The song was included in Omen's Elephant Eyes which was released on Sweat It Out in July 21st, 2015. Later that year her music was circulating around the Dreamville group as J. Cole wanted her to join him in creating some possible references for Rihanna. On December 8 it was reported that she had hired by Dreamville Records. In the Album Revenge of the Dreamers II which she was featured on, she sang the track Backseat with Cozz. Her Pho EP was released on her debut EP, on October 21st in 2016. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening act to J. Cole on his single Change in 2017. She also did a performance on 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. Also, she was featured on the songs Nothing but the Best by EarthGang as well as Icarus together with Bas the label's co-founders. Ari Lennox debuted her first single, Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on 16 July, 2018. A music video was then released in September. In November, she dropped two other singles, 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. The 13th of November, she released two more singles called The No One or Pedigree. The singer appeared alongside Cole in her Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby On November 16, and then released the song as a solo single for the album she released her debut. The 20th of February, 2019 she released a music video made available for the song. It has already received nearly three million viewers on YouTube within its first week. She was the support act for 6LACK as part of the From East Atlanta With Love Tour in December of 2018.
